Our sewer line froze up last winter so we undertook remedial action this fall, installing clean-outs and insulating the pipes to avoid future problems. Our thanks to Chairman, Bob Winchell, for volunteering to help oversee this upgrade.

EBF board member, Tony Blake, has been busy this fall installing new fencing around the farm to protect habitat areas. He also installed the posts in the main yard so we can expand our bird box collection display. Thanks Tony!
We are pleased to have a fresh supply of Backyard Bird Feeding: An Alberta Guide books printed. This book has now sold over 10,000 copies, netting Ellis Bird Farm over $85,000 in profit. All proceeds from the sale of this book go to the Education Legacy Fund, to support educational initiatives at Ellis Bird Farm.
Grant Loftus, owner of the company (Water By Design) that installed our new water garden, came to EBF last week to show us how to properly shut down the pump system for winter.
Additional fall tree planting was undertaken around the site and planning commenced for a new Children's Nature Discovery Play Area.
EBF has purchased three new Purple Martin houses, to replace the aging Jim Boyd houses. Debra McKinnon of the Purple Martin Conservancy volunteered to help us paint the boxes.
Linda Sommers and Ron Biel updated the EBF watering systems on the site so watering next season will be more efficient.
