Badger at EBF-May 2020

At least one badger has been making occasional visits to EBF over the past two years. Although rarely seen, its large holes can be seen in various areas around the site. We are pleased to have this iconic mammal as a backyard neighbour!

Our 2017  live nestcam season has come to an end.  Thank you to all of you for helping to make it a success.  It proved to be a tremendous outreach tool with millions of views over the past weeks.

We have put together the following time lapse video to memorialize the season as well as be a teaching tool.  Please help us continue the outreach by sharing the video via your social media avenues.

Sibling Rivalry in Black and White (Skunks)

Picture
This footage was captured by EBF board member, Leo de Groot, of Sylvan Lake, AB. He set out some dry dog food on his deck, then set up a remote camera to capture young skunks vying for food. Sibling rivalry at its best. To watch video, click here.

We are very honoured to be able to share some amazing footage inside a saw-whet owl box. A nestcam was placed in this box (located near Edmonton) before the owls commenced their nesting season, so we are able to view and enjoy this remarkable footage without disturbing the owls at all!  Enjoy!!
