Ellis Bird Farm, a conservation, education and research centre located near Lacombe, Alberta, is looking to hire post-secondary summer students to assist with the site operation between May 15 and August 31, 2018. One position will entail assisting with the development and delivery of nature-based interpretive programs to youth and seniors, working in the Visitor Centre, assisting with bird data collection, and assisting with the Gift Shop. The other position will entail assisting with the development and maintenance of gardens, habitat management, lawns, agricultural and orchard areas. Students must be returning to school in the fall of 2018. The priority groups identified by the Government of Canada for these positions include women in science, Indigenous youth, French speakers, youth from visible minorities, and members of the LGBT2 community. Application deadline is January 31, 2018.
