Gloria Friesen is returning as our 2010 Tea House operator. Gloria farms with her husband, Ron, near Ellis Bird Farm. She is a fabulous cook with lots of catering experience. Word is out about her delicious home-cooked food so the Tea House will again be a busy place!
Gloria offers fresh-squeezed lemonade, fresh-baked buns, home-made soups, excellent salads and plenty of delicious desserts. The Friesen's have their own saskatoon orchard so home-made saskatoon pie is a regular menu feature. Fresh rhubarb pie is also a popular dessert feature. Please check here for the 2009 menu.
The Tea House also features a take-out/ice cream window.
Lunch is served from 11 AM to 2 PM
NOTE: this year, the Tea House will open at 12:30 PM on Sundays
Tea Time is from 2 PM to 5 PM
Be sure to call ahead (403-885-4477) and make a reservation if you'd like to eat in the Tea House.
Gloria is shown here with four of her five daughters: (from left) Laura, Kayla, Jessica and Sarah. Her daughters, all with experience in the business, help her in the Tea House.
Thanks to funding support received from a Community Facilities Enhancement Program (CFEP) grant and in-kind support provided by Lacombe County, EBF was able to demolish the old Tea House kitchen and replace it with a modest new commercial kitchen. The old kitchen was cramped, inefficient and unbearably hot.
We are most grateful to EBF Chair, Cliff Soper, for taking the lead on this project.
